How to Use
❤ Apply the Japanese Traditional Way
You will be applying Shiro Nuka with a sash bag (included).
- Fill sash bag and knead in 4 cups of lukewarm water.
- Apply to face and neck in slow, circular motions. Start from T-zone and move out.
- Apply to hands, arms, and elbows as you wish.
- Use the milky-white water to wash face, neck, hands, and arms.
- Rinse with clear, lukewarm water.
- Rinse bag and hang dry.
❤ Use as Face Wash
Mix one tablespoon in 4 cups of lukewarm water. Wash face and neck with the mixture. Rinse well.
❤ Mix with Your Soap or Cleanser
Mix a small amount (less than 1/4 teaspoon) into the lather with fingertips. Wash and rinse face as usual.
❤ Apply as Facial Mask
Mix two flat teaspoons with lukewarm water to make a paste. Apply evenly on face. Leave for 10-15 minutes. Rinse well.
About Shiro Nuka
We make our Shiro Nuka exclusively from the germ and inner bran layer (aleurone) of Japanese rice (diagram in the picture gallery.) Rice germ and aleurone weight only about 6% of the weight of the entire grain but account for over 80% of its nutrients.
Shiro Nuka's Gamma-oryzanol antioxidant brightens skin by suppressing melanin production, combats dryness and soothes inflammatory skin conditions. Its "super vitamin E" Tocotrienols fight damage caused by free radicals. B-complex vitamins promote new skin growth and mitigate the effects of aging.

Mild and natural yet effective
I have now ordered my third batch of Shiro Nuka. After having tried other products (chemical / harsher on the skin) for skin brightening I am happy to have found Shiro Nuka. I use Shiro Nuka daily, mornings and evenings, my skin is brighter and spots have gradually faded away. Mornings, I mix it with water and massage onto face for about 30 seconds. Evenings I do the same but keep on face for longer (5 mins or so). In the evening, after applying the Shiro Nuka mask and rinsing I apply pearl powder mixed with rice bran oil and leave overnight. Not sure which ingredient is the more potent, but routinely combining these three products from wawaza (shiro nuka, pearl powder and rice bran oil) into my daily routine has drastically improved the appearance of my skin. EXTEMELY pleased with the results!

perfect skin soothener
I am using this for several weeks, and it makes my skin even, spots disappeared and my skin feels more healthy - the scent is natural "ricey" I like it and recommend it.

Noticed a difference with one usage
I received a sample of the rice bran powder with a purchase of the Funori powder and Aya camellia oil. I filled a sachet with the powder, swished it through lukewarm water and gently massaged my skin as recommended. I then splashed the cloudy lukewarm rice water over my skin and gently patted my face. My face was immediately more soft and smooth. The results held til the next morning. I was thrilled. I refrained from giving five stars because my experience is based on one usage. I plan on ordering a full batch though.

Best Skincare for Me
I have used many skincare lines, even organic, but this is the best skincare for my skin. I'm Native American and Japanese, mature skin, combination, with hyperpigmentation and enlarged pores. I also have a skin condition I'm working on with diet. This Nuka is gentle yet effective in cleansing and mildly exfoliating with just the use of my fingertips. I've not used the traditional sash method or the bowl method. Instead, I mix a paste and apply it directly to my skin. On some days I wash first with the sample rice bran soap I received from Wawaza, then apply a thin paste and gently cleanse with circular motions, from forehead to decollete, and on other days I'll just use a thicker paste, gently massage, then shower it off. My regimen now consists of Nuka, Rice Bran Oil (Bijin) mixed with the nacre here, then a few items for other issues (skin issue and SPF 15 organic cream) My skin is no longer sensitive (no synthetics!) and has calmed down. My skin issue is unnoticeable, and I no longer endure the symptoms, and my pores are CLEAN. The combination of the nacre and Bijin after Nuka is key for my skincare health. Thanks for a great product!

I don't know why, but my skin LOVES this product. After every use I can see a huge difference: my skin is smoother, the tone is more even, and it's less shiny. I use it in the evening, and always get compliments on "glowing skin" the next day

Really a wonderful treatment, in any form used, it’s so softening that makes a unique baby-skin effect! Delicate and soothing cleansing when used with the little sash as face/skin wash, and its fresh rice scent is just adorable, I enjoy it so much particularly when kept on as a mask for 20 mins.

My skin loves this!
This is a great cleanser. I have sensitive, oily and acne-prone skin, but I have not had a bad reaction to this product. I've used this as a mask, and it brightens my complexion very nicely. My skin feels clean and soft after I've massaged the rice bran on, and it's also really good to use to exfoliate. I highly recommend this. You won't regret it.

I have used this about every other day for a week, just adding some water and making a paste then lightly rubbing in circles onto my skin for a few minutes. After letting it sit for a bit I wash it off. My skin feels and looks amazing after, especially the next day when I wake up. My pores look clearer and skin tone better. Absolutely recommend!
