Invented as a boost for health by a Japanese herbalist in the early 1600s, shichimi is the super-food of condiments in the form of sprinkle seasoning.

Different regions in Japan add an 8th ingredient as a local specialty.

This shichimi is the Miyazaki variation, fortified with umami-rich zest of yuzu citrons.
