About Yuzu

With its distinctive zesty aroma, yuzu (Citrus junos, ゆず) must be near the top of all things that are unmistakably Japanese.

The size of a small tangerine, the exotic fragrance of yuzu ranges from red grapefruit to satsuma mandarin with high notes of bergamot orange and lime.

Japanese use it fresh, dried, as a paste, with salt and other condiments for almost any dish. They slice it thin to garnish fish and meat dishes and use its aromatic rind to make jams, marmalades, lemonade-like drinks, and even ice cream.

Yuzu's peel extract is widely used in products for rejuvenating and replenishing the skin.

    subtle but refreshing

As I am writing this review it is starting to get pretty hot here in Colorado. I am enjoying this soap now, and have just learned that traditionally, a yuzu bath is more of a winter solstice event in Japan. Another subtle but refreshing artisanal soap made from the native Japanese Lemon, to be used, in my humble opinion, all year round!
