Hatomugi, also known as pearl barley, Job’s tears, and adlay, has long been valued in Japan for its nutritional and skin-health benefits, and is considered by many to be a “miracle grain.”

It is routinely recommended by dermatologists in Japan for improving skin health, appearance, and common skin conditions.

  • Improve Complexion & Bounce
  • Soften Skin & Reduce Blemishes
  • Alleviate Sun & UV Damage
  • Brighten Tone & Diminish Dark Spots

Skin-loving vitamins & antioxidants

Hatomugi is rich in vitamins B1, B2, and B3, alongside a potent array of antioxidants that slow down melanin production to visibly diminish blemishes and dark spots.

Additionally, hatomugi is packed with natural compounds called lignans, which provide anti-inflammatory effects to effectively reduce redness and calm skin irritation.

I brew this as per the instructions. It has a lovely, roasted barley flavour and I enjoy drinking it. I like even more that it is good for my skin!!

    Refreshing.

To start this off, I haven't finished the bag. Just this week, i've been able to consume this tea regularly. So, i'm not a hundred percent sure that I can see a difference in my skin, with this alone. That could change in a month of regular consumption though! Inner affects? I'm not feeling bloated. Especially during the mooncycle, this time around! It seems to work, in conjunction with black sugar tea. No cramps! Taste: Popcorn and sweet grass. With an overall midtone of nutty tang in the back of the mouth. Aroma: Roasted grass for me. Which is nice! And the seeds taste a bit like maple!

    Soothing clean pure tea!

When I drink this, it feels cleansing and soothing, calming. It has a slight sweetness with an herbal woody aroma and delicate flavor. As everything else from here, the experience is fully enjoyable and I look forward to trying more! Gentle is how I'd describe this. I'm very happy to have tried this and finished so quickly! Will be back! <3 :)
