About Dokudami

Dokudami is widely found throughout Japan and is easily recognized by its heart-shaped leaves and delicate white blossoms. Its scientific name is Houttuynia cordata, which is why it is also known in English as Heartleaf.
In Japanese herbal practice it is also known as Jūyaku (十薬), literally “ten medicines,” a traditional name associated with its reputation as a versatile wellness herb.
Dokudami is officially listed in the Japanese Pharmacopoeia as Houttuynia Herb (Jūyaku), which establishes identity and quality standards for the dried aerial parts of the plant harvested during flowering.

Wawaza and Dokudami Tea
The site, the customer service and, most importantly, the product - in this instance Dukodami Tea - are all excellent. What's more this is a genuine and independent review. It's not one of those BS ones which the site writes about itself. I count my blessings I fluked upon this the Wawaza website.

Great Tea Detox
I bought this as soon as my newsletter arrived in my inbox. My mother used to live in Miyazaki and was pleasantly surprised to see that I bought this for my Spring detoxification. She gladly dusted off her teapot and started brewing this tea for me each morning. I finally finished my last dosage and am moving onto the other tea (kuromame) that was also in the newsletter. Fresh product and deep earthy taste. What I like about it is the detoxification properties. Thanks!
